1 Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest
1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the virtual meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.
1.2 In accordance with Standing Order 34.19, the Chair stated that she had determined that the public were excluded from the Committee’s meeting in order to protect public health but that the meeting would be broadcast live on www.senedd.tv
1.3 The Chair stated that if for any reason she dropped out of the meeting, the Committee agreed that Dawn Bowden MS would become Temporary Chair in accordance with Standing Order 17.22.
1.4 There were no apologies.
2 COVID-19: vulnerable children
2.1 The Committee heard evidence from NSPCC, Barnardo’s Cymru and Action for Children.
3 COVID-19: vulnerable children
3.1 The Committee heard evidence from the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) Cymru, Voices from Care and Tros Gynnal Plant (TGP) Cymru.
3.2 Tros Gynnal agreed to provide a note on how many children are living in 155 independent private homes in Wales.
3.3 Voices from care agreed to provide the following:
A report relating to the process of young people leaving care and
An update on projects based on the leaving care approach in wales called When I am Ready.
4 COVID-19: vulnerable children
4.1 The Committee heard evidence from representatives of frontline local authority social services.

6 Motion under Standing Order 17.42(ix) to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting
6.1 The motion was agreed.
7 COVID-19 - consideration of the draft report
7.1 The Committee discussed the draft report. As this was the last Committee meeting of the Fifth Senedd, Members agreed to consider final amendments and agree the report electronically.
